Y'all, let's talk about the real final boss of Baldur's Gate 3: yourself. 😂 You know the feeling. You're 50 hours in, you see a cool new mod, or you just get an idea for a new Tav, and suddenly... BAM! You're staring at that character creator again, ready to abandon your current run. Girl, same. I call it restart-itis, and it's a pandemic in Faerûn. But listen, hitting that 'New Game' button for the umpteenth time isn't the only cure. I've been there, done that, and I'm here to tell you there's a whole world of fun waiting in your current save file. Let's spice up that campaign you've already poured your heart into!

9. Give Your Tav Some ✨Depth✨

Okay, this one requires a little imagination, but hear me out. Sometimes, we get bored because our Tav is just... a cool-looking stat sheet. This requires a bit of imagination, but giving them a real personality, fears, and a backstory beyond 'fighter who hits stuff' can completely change the game. Why is your Paladin really so devoted? What's the one secret your Bard is terrified of anyone finding out? Suddenly, dialogue choices aren't just about outcomes; they're about who your character is. If you're playing an origin character like Shadowheart or Astarion, consider what would change their actions and motivations. What if a key event went differently? Roleplay that divergence! It’s like giving your playthrough a whole new soul without the 40-hour prologue.

8. Party Time at the Circus! 🎪

Feeling like you've seen it all? Think again! Once you hit Act 3, you can't return to Acts 1 and 2, which is a bummer. But one spot that's always open for business is the Circus of the Last Days in Rivington. This place is a whole vibe and a half. You can:

  • Take Zethino's love test (awkward but hilarious).

  • Get your face painted by Zara.

  • Commission a giant statue of yourself (or your favorite companion... looking at you, Karlach stans).

  • If you fancy a challenge, you can also go on a scavenger hunt for poor Dribbles the Clown's... parts. It's a wild goose chase across the city, but it's a fun little side-quest that gives you a great tour of Act 3.

7. Become an Achievement Hunter 🏆

There are 54 achievements in Baldur's Gate 3, and a ton of them aren't tied to story progression! Give yourself a mini-game. Want a real head-scratcher? The "Jack-of-all-Trades" achievement may appear ludicrous at first (getting one level in every class), but guess what? You can do it on a hireling! Respec them at Withers and go nuts. And can we talk about the Busker achievement? It's so simple (play an instrument for 100 gold), but only 2% of players have it! It's the perfect little side task.

6. Fashion Faerûn: Extreme Camp Edition 👗

Drop everything. It's very easy to sink a few hours into finding the best, perfectly dyed outfits for your entire camp. This is my personal therapy. Hit up the shops in the Lower City, download some fabulous mods, and give everyone a makeover. Theme your camp! Maybe everyone gets matching goth fits, or you dress Gale in the most ridiculous wizard hat you can find. It's a whole new game when your party looks fire 24/7.

5. Relive the Glory Days (or the Mess-Ups) 🎬

Your old save files aren’t going anywhere (unless you're in Honor Mode, you brave soul). Miss a specific cutscene? Want to see what would've happened if you'd kissed the mind flayer? Load up an old save! You can easily test out different dialogue options to see what you missed the first time around. It's like having a time machine for all your biggest 'what ifs' without derailing your main playthrough.

4. Say Cheese! 📸 Faerûn Photoshoot

You've got the outfits, you've got the party... now get the pictures! Photo Mode is surprisingly easy to use and it's a game-changer. You can activate Photo Mode at any point throughout your playthrough. Capture your Tav looking dramatic on a cliffside, get a cute group pic at camp, or stage an epic battle scene. It's the perfect way to create a visual diary of your adventure. Trust me, scrolling through your BG3 photo album later is pure serotonin.

3. Home Sweet (Temporary) Home 🏕️

Okay, this one is for my fellow decorators. You can collect different items throughout your travels and arrange them in your camp. Found a pretty vase? A weird skull? A stack of books? Display them! It's a shame that Tav doesn't get their own tent like their companions, so this is how you claim your space. If you have the Elfsong Tavern room, go nuts! Make it cozy. When you move camps, your goodies go back to your chest, so no need to worry about losing your collection.

2. Talk to EVERYONE (and Everything) 🗣️

I'm serious. You've more than likely missed at least a couple of interesting interactions. I was shook when I finally talked to Clovia and Blarson Throaks in the Elfsong and uncovered a whole secret affair. They were just background NPCs to me for months! I'd recommend talking to as many NPCs as possible, especially in the dense areas of Rivington and the Lower City. And please, for the love of all that is holy, cast Speak with Animals! The amount of sass, drama, and secret quests you get from squirrels, dogs, and birds is unreal. You haven't lived until you've had a deep conversation with a cat about the meaning of life.

1. The Ultimate Challenge: Actually Finish. 🏁

I know, I know. Act Three feels big and messy. But sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is see it through. The most obvious thing you can do instead of starting a new campaign is to lock into one of your current playthroughs. You don't have to do every single quest. Focus on the Netherstones. Make a wild, ending-defining choice you've never made before. Betray someone. Side with the 'bad' guy. Take control yourself! It'll always be more satisfying not to leave a story unfinished. Give your Tav, and yourself, the closure you deserve. You can do it!

So, what do you think? Are you going to give your current run a second chance? Let me know which tip you're trying first! Sometimes the best adventures aren't new ones, but the ones you learn to love in a whole new way. 💖
